I want to remind people about Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted of all charges in November 2021, when a jury agreed to his case of self-defense. In January 2026, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old VA ICU nurse from Minneapolis, was fatally shot and executed without due process by federal immigration agents during a chaotic confrontation in the city; video footage widely shared and verified by multiple news outlets appears to show him holding only a phone and not brandishing a weapon when he was pepper-sprayed, tackled, and ultimately shot. The firearm he had was recovered from his holster only after he was down, yet high level government officials including our President made bold claims that he brandished that weapon and posed a threat. But eyewitness accounts and that video evidence has completely debunked that narrative and spurred protests and bipartisan calls for accountability. His death — coming amid an aggressive federal immigration enforcement operation that citizens see as more of a political intimidation operation — has highlighted deep mistrust in official accounts and underscored the fragility of public confidence in law enforcement and political messaging.
The most recent narrative they’ve shifted to is pretty shocking when you compare it to what members of this party were saying in another situation just a few years ago. It’s also of course pretty shocking when you think about how dearly their constituents hold their 2A rights.
Do you still find these people credible enough to keep voting for? This is the kind of stuff we’ve been seeing from them for years. Maybe the 2nd Amendment that is held so dearly will finally wake people up to what others have been seeing all along?
