In case you aren’t aware, Lady Gaga covered the Mister Rogers “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” song for a giant company’s super bowl commercial that aired tonight. As a big fan of Mister Rogers and PBS, having been raised on his message and practically more inspired by him than religion (he was pretty religious, so that influence on him and then to me isn’t lost on me), so I’m a little peeved to see this commercial usage.
Ultimately, I really hope she’s covering this song to raise money for recently Trump-punished PBS and not just to support the Trump backing billionaire-owned real estate conglomerate. PBS or the Fred Rogers Productions better be getting something out of it.
That’s all. Otherwise the game has been pretty boring. Maybe some day a team I care about will be in this game.
