Minnesota hit with first major snowfall of Winter 2025-26

It’s always a good reminder during the first major Minnesota snowfall that half the state doesn’t know how to drive and the other half has a super cool 4WD that should be filmed for Fast & Furious: Black Ice Drift and we are all so very impressed by your ability to somehow stop faster on ice than everyone else /sarcasm. Also a reminder that hybrid work really does make everyone’s life better. Even the people who aren’t working from home benefit, because hey, fewer panic-braking Minnesotans on the road is a public service.

But then there are the folks who absolutely could work from home and still insist on white-knuckling it into the office out of sheer stubbornness. Congrats on proving… something? Please enjoy your reward: contributing to a 47-car pileup on 35W for absolutely no reason.

In other news, I’m currently on a news boycott. A full blackout. I’ve tapped out. My brain has reached its federally recommended maximum daily allowance of current events. I swear, if I see one more headline that looks like it was written by a doomsday poet with Wi-Fi, I’m going to start living in the woods and communicating exclusively with raccoons.

So no, I have absolutely zero current-events commentary to contribute right now. Nothing. I’m running on empty. My tank is full of coffee, sarcasm, and whatever sand is left in my soul.

I’ve just hit my limit with the state of the world and all the people who proudly refuse to see the big picture or the real life humans impacted — you know, the ones squinting at one tiny corner of life like it’s a Magic Eye puzzle while the rest of us are over here drowning in obvious context. At this point I’m one more bad take away from throwing my phone into a lake and declaring myself Amish or a member of a commune in Canada or Scandanavia. But they don’t want us anymore, so I’d probably have to settle with Montana or Alaska far away from people.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got. News boycott continues until morale improves which probably won’t be until like 2045 at this rate, if we’re lucky.
