No full Monday Check-In this week with updates from the weekend. I’ll be home from vacation next week with a full report. Also I like how everyone all over the rest of the world calls vacations “holidays.” It makes them sound more like a fun celebration.
Alas, I went ahead and pre-scheduled this quick poem for you so that there wasn’t totally nothing here:
A vacation without sun is like a biscotti without coffee,
Technically fine—but honestly, kinda sloppy.
No golden glow, no sky so blue,
Just pale skies mucking up everything you do.
Flip-flops sulk, the beach feels wrong,
The days drag short, the nights too long.
Because some things pair, as they ought to be—
Like sun with sand… and biscotti with coffee.
The end. At least on a rainy vacation day I can sit inside and drink coffee with almond biscottis. Just gotta make the most of things, ya know? But here’s hoping that wherever I am as this post goes live that it’s sunny and perfect.
