One of the strangest things during the pandemic was seeing all these LinkedIn posts where people were basically kissing the ass of the company that just screwed them over by not having a safety net.

“Thank you, Microsoft, for the opportunity! I loved my time with the company and totally understand the reduction in force!” Like, seriously? You’re thanking them?

It’s baffling. The whole “Look at me, look at how positive and nice I am!” shtick just feels so fake. It’s insane that people feel the need to publicly praise the very company that put them in a tough spot. Good grief! You might think you’re projecting positivity, resilience, and all those admirable qualities, but to me, it reeks of forced optimism and corporate brown-nosing. We all know you’re stressed, frustrated, and likely furious—don’t pretend otherwise.

Real resilience comes with being authentic, not pretending everything is fine when it clearly isn’t.
