…and Thanksgiving is already just a few days away. Looks like i’m stuck in Minneapolis for Turkey day, but i’ve been invited to spend Thanksgiving with Lizzie’s family which is really nice. Sucks that I won’t get up to North Dakota though, it’s been a while since i’ve been home. Otherwise, i’ve been keeping pretty busy the last week or so. I had midterms and did pretty good as far as I know. My Posi Lock signage model that I made turned out pretty nicely, and I got a good grade on it, so that’s good. I had a litte frustrating moment with The Art Institute yesterday. I locked myself out of the student services website where I can check my school messages and stuff, so I went where the website told me to go, to the Tech Cage. They told me that the Registrar’s office does the password resets, so I went over there. When I got there the receptionist told me I needed to talk to the lady over at the desk, she said I could just go take a seat over by her desk until she’s done with her call. I walked over and immediately could tell she was on a personal call, which I didn’t care about at first until she noticed me and then started speaking in spanish. I then waited, while she took the rest of the call in Spanish for close to 10 minutes. It was one of those moments that I wished I knew how to speak Spanish. So when she was off her call, she shrugged like I was bothering her and asked what I needed, I told her I locked myself out of my student services login and was told she could reset it for me. She then asked as if she was angry “Who told you that?” I told her that the tech cage did. She was then like “Well I shut my computer off for the day and I don’t have time to do it so you can go down to student services and do it.” I was then like, “Oh i’m sorry were you just leaving, I didn’t mean to come in I didn’t know what time you were off for the day.” She then told me that she doesn’t leave until 5:00 and then I became a little curious why her computer was already shut off for the day when she didn’t leave for another 3 hours. So I asked her. I was so mad that I didn’t hold back, this isn’t the first time this same lady has been rude and unhelpful to me and i’m not paying $62,000 to go to school there so she can sit and gossip on the phone to her friends on my watch. So I was like, “well you should have time to do it then since you don’t leave until 5:00 and you don’t look too busy.” She said in an especially rude tone, “Again, I’m busy right now, go have someone else do it okay?” Then she picked up her phone and started dialing a number and I said “Okay I’ll go have the dean do it.” The thing that annoyed me is that there wasn’t a single paper out on her desk, her computer was shut off three hours early, she was taking personal calls which she was deliberately trying to cover up by speaking spanish, and she claimed she was too busy to just reset my stupid online password. I’m writing a letter to the dean, because she screwed up on my paperwork sometime during 3rd quarter and tried to tell me I wasn’t showing up for class according to their attendance records, yet my instructor’s records showed I was there all the time. She basically called me a liar to my face during the conversation where she was also very rude, unhelpful, and lazy, and I had to get the instructor to walk to the registrar’s office with me during his class (which he was quite pissed about) and have him physically show her his records. She had the nerve to tell him his records were wrong. He took care of it after 20 minutes of yelling at her that they enter their records based on his records, so how could his possibly be wrong and her be right. So she got off her ass and turned on her computer and acted all annoyed and cranky while she took 3 painful minutes of her time and entered in the correct information for my file. So i’m going to the Dean or writing her a letter at least of complaint about this lady, and i’ll be sure to rant about both occasions where I didn’t get my $62,000 worth. And I still haven’t gotten my password reset!!! But that’s enough about that. Well, until next time, Happy Thanksgiving.
