I had to hunt for and tweak some recipes online to make Bubba Gump Shrimp’s Shrimp New Orleans. I got it down pretty good, it’s all about the onions and the Worcestershire. Serve with some crusty garlic bread.
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- 2 Tbsp Onion
- 2 Tbsp Garlic
- 1/3 cup Chicken Stock
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce (have it on the table to add more to taste…I usually go a bit heavier than the 1/4 cup)
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Dried Thyme
- 1/2 tsp Dried Basil
- 1 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 3/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 3/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1.1 lb Shrimp
- to taste Butter
- 1 cup White Rice
- to taste Tomato
- to taste Scallion or green onion

Finely chop the Onion. I mean REAL fine.

Mince the Garlic.

In a medium sauce pan on medium to high heat add Butter, Finelly Chopped Onion and Minced Garlic. Cook for 1 minute.

Add Chicken Stock (1/3 cup), Worcestershire Sauce (1/4 cup), Lemon Juice (1 tsp), Dried Thyme (1 tsp), Dried Basil 1/2 tsp), Ground Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper and Salt. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
I usually go a little heavier on the Worcestershire and garlic, or just have the Worcestershire bottle at the table

Add 1 cup Heavy Cream and stir through. When the sauce starts to bubble slightly turn down the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Cover and set aside to keep warm.

In a small bowl combine Paprika, Salt, Ground Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Cayenne Pepper. Mix well.

Devein and clean the Shrimp.

Melt the Butter.

On a baking tray lined with baking paper arrange the Shrimp and sprinkle with the dry seasoning. Turn over and season the other side. Then brush over with melted butter.

Preheat oven at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Place seasoned shrimp into preheated oven and cook for 7-8 minutes until cooked through.

Dice the Tomato.

Chop the Scallion.

To serve place White Rice onto the center of a plate. Spoon around the sauce and add the cooked shrimp. Top with diced tomato and chopped scallion or green onion. Enjoy!
