I was very busy over the holidays

Reading Time: 4 minutes.

Hey everyone! Sorry that I haven’t posted a message in about two weeks, I was very busy over the holidays as i’m sure you all were as well. I had a wonderful holiday, and I hope you did as well. I got to spend time with my brother and best friend from North Dakota, they came down the weekend before Christmas to go with me to the 93X Nutcracker concert in St Paul featuring the bands Disturbed, Stone Sour, Chevelle, Stereomud, and a band named For. Stone Sour definitely was the highlight of the show, I thought it was a little stupid though when someone threw a shirt on Corey Taylor right in the middle of the song “Bother.” He stopped the whole song because the shirt was covering him almost completely, I then thought he was going to blow up and leave but he instead put the shirt on (even though it was way too small) and yelled “can I finish the f**king song now?” It was great, they definitely were the best band there that night. Chevelle sucked majorly, I wouldn’t pay to see them on stage ever again. They totally ruined their own song. Stereomud was really good, i’d put them at #2. Disturbed, who was the headliner of the concert, was pretty good although the lead singer did more preaching than he did playing music I think. But they still rocked. Unfortunately I was really tired that night, I was going off of 2 hours of sleep the night before as that Friday was my last day of the semester and I had two big final projects due that day. I finished out good, and my grades should keep me on the Dean’s list this quarter. Jeremy and Randy stayed until Monday. We got my car fixed, went and saw a movie, and did some other stuff. My present them were the concert tickets, and Randy and Jeremy got me a really cool present. They got me a Playstation 2 which I would have never bought myself, but it’ll be nice to have when I have the “need for speed” cravings so I can play my favorite game, Gran Turismo 3. Although I still probably won’t have much time to sit around playing games, it’ll be nice to have. It won’t get in the way i’m sure. I can’t afford any games anyway! Hee hee. I bought myself a Christmas present actually, it was an investment well spent actually. I got myself a new computer, an Apple iBook. The only laptop I had before was a Dell, and it was a little old (running only 266 MHZ) so it wasn’t exactly getting me along for my design needs. So it will be nice to have a portable Mac. I got Lizzie a nice pair of diamond earrings, she seems to like them (I hope). I also got her a nice personalized ornament and a candle from Bath & Body works. I got some really cool presents. My Mom gave me money (definitely needed that) along with a really cool reference guide for freelance designers, i’ve been reading it at work and it’s really good and i’m learning a lot from it. Also got a NASCAR calendar and an emergency kit for my car, Lizzie got me a really nice undercoat to use under my favorite winter coat to help keep me warm on my little bike rides around downtown this winter. It’s been REALLY helpful so far, even though it’s been such a mild winter. Lizzie’s dad gave me three really cool DVDs, we’ve already watched two of them! Hee hee. Lizzie’s mom gave me a really nice sweater and the E.T. DVD, which Liz must have mentioned that I wanted. And a really nice dressy sweater for work too. I loved everything, there were more gifts but I really don’t wanna sit and tell everything. Otherwise, i’ve just been working some extra hours at TCF making up for the time lost over the holidays. So i’m just going to enjoy the rest of my break, probably make a trip to Fargo for New Years, and get my new computer set up. It’s running system 10 which is a bit different, but I think Iike it! Well, talk to you again soon. Happy New Year!
