I just got back from a short trip to North Dakota. I had to renew my driver’s license. I was a little worried I wouldn’t pass the vision test, because I haven’t been to an eye doctor in a while but I saw the letters fine so I guess it’s not as bad as I think.
I’m finally getting over my illness that’s seems to be lasting forever. I caught a cold on my last visit to North Dakota back in May and have been fighting it ever since, was worried that I had pneumonia because I had a really nasty cough this past weekend. I was going to go into a clinic on Tuesday but it was starting to clear up on Monday and it’s been slowly getting better so i’m going to wait it out a little longer. I had to work full time days all through the weekend and with my cough and sore throat it was terrible, but I made it through.
Lizzie and I went to the Como Zoo in St. Paul a few days ago (while I was still sick) but it’s been really nice outside lately so we had to go check it out. It was really small, they just had a few cats, a couple monkeys, some giraffes, and a couple polar bears. I think the Polar bears were the best. The Minnesota Zoo is actually a closer drive, but it’s more expensive. It would be like $40 while the Como Zoo was free so we’re going to have to save up for the Minnesota Zoo. We’re hoping to get to Valleyfair soon too, I actually got two free tickets from work and a free parking pass so we don’t have to worry about paying for that, I just need someone to come along who will go on the roller coasters with me. I’ll probably have my brother come down next month or something. My friend Randy is out of the picture because he’s working down south for the summer.
Went to a movie while we were up in Fargo. We saw “The Italian Job” which I thought was pretty good. We also played the game “Metal Gear Solid 2” for PS2 over at a friend of my brother’s. I have the game at home, so when we got back here I immediately had to start playing it myself and I actually beat the game in just about 3 hours (starting from where I left off a while ago which was about 1/3 through the game). I was playing on Easy level though so I suppose it wasn’t as challenging as it could have been. The ending of the game was dissapointing, the game was actually challenging throughout the first 3/4 of the game and then at the end the game pretty much played for you which was kind of irritating. I don’t really like games where you don’t have complete control, where it’s almost like you’re watching a movie, you just get to play the role of the good guy in the action scenes. I guess that’s a whole genre of video games isn’t it? Eh, I think i’ll stick to my auto racing games. And SimCity 4 is on my wishlist too.
But what I really want for my birthday next month is a new electric razor. People have been asking if i’m trying to grow a beard or something and actually no i’m not because hair on my face irritates me more than rap music, it’s just that my old electric razor is getting so dull that it makes for a very painful shave. But this type of thing isn’t very interesting to you i’m sure, so I guess i’d best not entertain this subject any more thought. I’m just out of things to say. What do you think of the lady who ran over the homeless guy and left him to rot on her car in the garage, and then tried every excuse in the book to get out of it? No surprise to me that she was found guilty of murder. Seemed like a no-brainer to me. Must have the same lawyer that the girl from that car accident I was in last month has. I’ll leave that one alone for now. See you next time.
